An interbank settlement system or settlement -delivrery system for financial instruments organises relations between at least two parties, such as a credit institution, an investment firm, a member of a clearing house, etc., which carries out regular execution of payments, throught clearing or otherwise, and for settlement-delivery systems for financial instruments, the delivery of securities between the said participants.
Article R.330-1 and seq. of the Monetary and Financial Code indicate the following:

Financial instrument settlement systems notified to the European Commission submit the list of direct and indirect participants in these systems to the Banque de France and the Autorité des marchés financiers.

The Banque de France and the Autorité
des Marchés Financiers provide this information available to the public upon request.
The settlement systems that have been notified to the European Commission to date are:
- ESES France, operated by Euroclear France SA;
- LCH.Clearnet, operated by the Banque Centrale de Compensation (LCH.Clearnet SA).
