News releases AMF: 2014

Clarification by the AMF following a news release issued by Aristophil on 20 November 2014

Published on December 1, 2014

Contrary to the information contained in above-mentioned news release issued by Aristophil, the AMF wishes to make clear that it has not approved in any way the activity of this company as it lies outside of its jurisdiction.

In its news release issued on 20 November 2014, Aristophil stated, “Our activity is approved by the Autorité des Marchés Financiers”, and, in an interview published on the website, its chairman, Mr. Gérard Lhéritier, claimed, “All our products have regularly been submitted to the AMF and have always been given the green light”.

This has led to questions from investors who have contacted the AMF seeking confirmation.

The AMF wishes to make clear that Aristophil’s activity does not come within the financial regulator’s jurisdiction and that it has not licensed, approved or registered the company’s products.

However, the AMF does regularly alert investors to the risks of so-called atypical investments, notably letters and manuscripts, which are not subject to the protective regulations covering financial instruments.
