The appointment by the Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF) of Stéphane Gallon to the position of Chief Economist and Head of the Analysis, Strategy and Risks Division

Stéphane Gallon has been appointed Chief Economist and Head of the Analysis, Strategy and Risk Division within the Regulatory Policy and International Affairs Directorate.

picStéphane GALLON, 43, chief civil engineer from the Corps des ponts, des eaux et des forêts (IPEF), graduated from the Ecole Polytechnique (class of 1992) and the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées (class of 1997). During his studies, he worked for two years as a strategy consultant for Marceau Investissements. In 1998, he joined the Forecasting Directorate at the French Ministry of Finance as the economist responsible for the energy sector. He then managed the office in charge of environmental risk at the Ministry of Ecology (2001-2003) before joining the Treasury Department. There he led the office in charge of industry, research and innovation (2003-2006) before managing the office responsible for international macro-economic forecasting (2006-2009). In 2009, he became chief economist of the Caisse des Dépôts group (2009-2015). In May 2015, he joined the Autorité des Marchés Financiers. Stéphane Gallon is also a lecturer at the Ecole Nationale d'Administration, and an economics professor at the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées.
