The Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF) warns the public about the activities of individuals claiming to work for the AMF

The Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF) draws the attention of the public to the activities of certain individuals claiming to belong to the Autorité des Marchés Financiers and contacting retail investors by telephone.

As in the previous case of identity misuse reported in the news release of 19 June this year, certain individuals introducing themselves using a variety of pseudonyms ("Mr TOUFFU", "Mr SAISON" and "Mrs MORENO") and as belonging to the "KD MARKETS" agency, are contacting French investors by telephone and e-mail, claiming to be employees of, or commissioned by the AMF.

Investors have informed the AMF that they have been contacted by these individuals with the supposed aim of helping them to recover sums they have invested or losses they have made on unauthorised websites, and proposing FOREX or binary options trading.

These individuals are making fraudulent use of the names of the Autorité des Marchés Financiers, of the Quebec Autorité des Marchés Financiers or of the "AMF" in their telephone calls or on their information request forms.

The AMF asks any members of the public who might be contacted by these people not to respond to their solicitations. It will be transmitting this information to the Paris Prosecutors Office in the near future.

The AMF reminds you that you should be particularly vigilant if ever you receive any solicitations via internet and that you should always check whether the service provider in question has the necessary authorisations.
