Ten new key figures admitted to the Board of the Autorité des Marchés Financiers

By an order of the Minister for the Economy, Finance and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty dated 8 February 2024, published in the Official Journal on 9 February 2024 and by appointment decision of public competent authorities, the AMF Board, chaired by Marie-Anne Barbat-Layani is renewed with ten news members among 16.

The equal access for women and men is respected as required by the Order n°2015-948 of 31 July 2015 regarding equal access for women and men to positions within administrative independant authorities and independent public authorities. The composition of the AMF Board was published in the Official Journal on 13 February 2024.

The ten new members are:

  • Catherine Bergeal, appointed by the Vice-President of the Council of State,
  • Jérôme Bascher, appointed by the President of  the Senate,
  • Corinne Dromer, appointed by the Presidente of the National Assembly,
  • Bernard Kuhn, appointed by the Chair of the Economic, Social and Environmental Council,
  • Olympe Dexant-de Bailliencourt, appointed by the Minister for the Economy, Finance and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty,
  • Jean-Marc Eyssautier, appointed by the Minister for the Economy, Finance and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty,
  • Nathalie Gay-Guggenheim, appointed by the Minister for the Economy, Finance and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty,
  • Jean-Baptiste Massignon, appointed by the Minister for the Economy, Finance and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty,
  • Marie-Pierre Peillon, appointed by the Minister for the Economy, Finance and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty,
  • Loïc Desmouceaux, appointed by the Minister for the Economy, Finance and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty as representative of employee shareholders.

Have been reappointed:

  • Claude Nocquet, appointed by the first President of the Court of Cassation,
  • Arnaud Oseredczuk, appointed by the first President of the Court of Auditors,
  • Muriel Faure, appointed by the Minister for the Economy, Finance and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty.

Are also members:

  • Denis Beau, as Deputy Governor of the Banque de France, appointed by the Governor,
  • Robert Ophèle, as Chairman of the French Accouting Standards Authority.

A multidisciplinary composition

Its 16 members coming from a variety of backgrounds gives the Board the technical and legal expertise needed to carry out its mission of protecting savings, ensuring that investors are properly informed and that financial markets function efficiently while taking into account financial stability objectives.

Board members other than the Banque de France representative and the Chairmain of the Autorité des Normes Comptables serve a five-year term of office, renewable once.
