World Investor Week 2017: The AMF, along with 70 regulators worldwide, is committed to financial education and investor protection

IOSCO (1) (International Organization of Securities Commissions) has mobilised more than 70 financial regulatory authorities for the first "World Investor Week" from 2 to 8 October 2017. L'Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) has organised several meetings with savers at this event, and it will also launch its first mobile application for the general public.

An unprecedented international initiative

Financial education and the protection of individual investors are key issues for many regulators worldwide including the AMF, which has placed these themes at the heart of its strategic project. IOSCO seeks to support all national initiatives and it is launching an international campaign involving more than 70 countries and regulators as well as several forums and associations.
The event website presents the various projects and resources made available by the participants: www.worldinvestorweek.org

A broad range of tools available for individual investors

In addition to the substantial content available on its website and its Facebook page, the AMF has created specific multi-channel content during this week:

  • A radio campaign conducted in partnership with INC and proposing 1.5 min educational picbroadcasts on many topics: preparing for retirement, employee savings, investment expenses and investment scams. The campaign will be broadcast from 2 to 28 October and be available as a podcast on the following channel: https://soundcloud.com/info-placement.
  • FinQuiz, AMF's mobile app for the general public. Available for free on the App Store and Google Play, this quiz lets you test your knowledge and improve your financial literacy. The workings of the stock exchange, major financial concepts, knowledge of investments, etc. Nearly a thousand questions for you to acquire best practices and improve.
  • On the savers tab at www.amf-france.org: new content on investments (infographics and videos).
  • Meetings with individuals: a meeting on the supervision of financial markets in partnership with F2IC (French Federation of Investment Individuals and Clubs) at the Banque de France in Lyon on 2 October, as well as a web conference on 5 October on IPOs.
  • This first World Investor Week fits in fully with the national financial education strategy led by the Banque de France and to which the AMF actively contributes, and is promoted by the AMF's partners and support (INC, La finance pour tous, AFG, the Banque de France, and the French national education system).
