Marie-Hélène Tric, Honorary Judge at the Court of Cassation, becomes Chairman of the AMF Enforcement Committee

Marie-Hélène Tric has been elected Chairman of the Enforcement Committee of the Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF). She will succeed Michel Pinault, who was recently appointed member of the Constitutional Council. Jean Gaeremynck, member of the Conseil d'Etat, will chair the second division of the Committee.

After Jean Gaeremynck was appointed member of the AMF Enforcement Committee by the vice-president of the Conseil d'Etat, the Committee elected its new Chairman at its meeting of 13 April 2016. Marie-Hélène Tric, Honorary Judge at the Court of Cassation and a member of the Enforcement Committee since February 2011, will succeed Michel Pinault.

The chairman of the Enforcement Committee was elected by the Committee members, from among the four judges appointed by the vice-president of the Conseil d'Etat and the first president of the Court of Cassation. The Committee sitting in plenary session and the first division will therefore be chaired by Marie-Hélène Tric. The Committee members also elected Jean Gaeremynck, Deputy Chairman of the finances division at the Conseil d'Etat, as Chairman of the second division.

To rule on the cases submitted to it, the Enforcement Committee may sit in a plenary session or by division. As allowed by the Monetary and Financial Code, the Committee is organised in two divisions, each with six members and chaired by one of the members of the Conseil d'Etat or one of the Court of Cassation trial judges.
