AMF Chair Marie-Anne Barbat-Layani meets with ASIC Chair Joseph Longo
AMF Chair, Marie-Anne Barbat-Layani, met with her Australian counterpart, Joseph Longo, on October 25, at the AMF premises in Paris. AMF Secretary General, Sébastien Raspiller, also participated in the meeting together with other senior AMF and ASIC representatives.
The two Chairs addressed the major changes underway on the financial markets globally and the opportunities and risks that such changes generate. They shared their respective work priorities and reaffirmed their commitment to continue to cooperate within the international bodies of which they are members in order to promote strong international standards supporting market integrity and investor confidence. They also agreed to further develop the close and long-standing cooperation between the two institutions.
In particular, AMF Chair Marie-Anne Barbat-Layani and ASIC Chair Joseph Longo discussed common issues in areas such as sustainable finance, the regulation and supervision of crypto-assets, the use of data to conduct their mission as well as their enforcement priorities with regards to scams, cyber risks and greenwashing.
