Summary of the SPOT inspection campaign conducted on market abuse prevention systems in asset management companies
The SPOT inspection campaign on market abuse prevention systems in asset management companies (“AMCs”) was part of the AMF’s supervisory priorities for 2021. Market abuse can be defined as any “[…] unlawful behaviour in the financial markets and […] should be understood to consist of insider dealing, unlawful disclosure of inside information and market manipulation”. The purpose of the SPOT campaign was to inspect the systems for preventing, monitoring, detecting and reporting of market abuse in AMCs.
